Why 3,000 Miles Is Too Soon to Change Your Engine's Oil

Many of us vehicle owners out there are still sticking to the old rule of thumb of changing your engine's oil every 3,000 miles. Once upon a time, this was a very healthy habit for your vehicle's engine, but in today's world, manufacturers are recommending a change every 7,500 miles or more depending on the maker.

Always consult your owner's manual or a dealership to make sure that you are giving your vehicle's engine the things it needs. One of the largest determining factors of when you will need to change your vehicle's oil is the way that you operate your vehicle. It can be much harder on your engine if you frequently drive it in extreme temperatures, stop and go traffic with plenty of idle time or frequent short distance journeys in which the engine does not get to the proper operating temperature.

Make sure your vehicle gets the quality care it deserves, brings it in to see our staff at Glenn Ford today.
