New "Police Responder" Model Shows Off F-150's Versatility

When you think of the Ford F-150, what comes to mind? Horsepower? Towing capacity? Off-roading? Thanks to the recently announced Police Responder model, you'll soon be able to add "law enforcement" to the list.

As reported by AutoNews.com, the new Police Responder model will take the upcoming 2018 F-150 and transform into a tool for police work. Utilizing a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, the Police Responder will have access to 375 horsepower, 470 pounds-feet of torque, and a towing capacity of 7,000 pounds. Add in 132 cubic feet of cargo space and a maximum speed of 100 MPH and you get a capable vehicle that will be well-equipped to aid the officers driving it.

The F-150 Police Responder is, of course, only the latest in a long line of police-centric cars released by Ford. What it does demonstrate however, is how wide of range of abilities the new F-150 will have. Like its forebears from previous years, the 2018 edition will launch with several models and engine options available right off the bat. No matter what you need from the F-150, there will be a version that covers it.
